Is The Democratic Party Diverse?

I've watched the presidential debates for both the Republican Party and the Democratic Party. Aside from the observation that the field of candidates are overwhelmingly male, which a couple of outstanding female candidates in Hillary Clinton and Carly Fiorina, another unsettling observation emerged:  While the Democratic Party is supposed to be the inclusive party, its presidential candidates do not reflect this inclusivity.  The four candidates on the floor at the Democratic Party debate last night are all white, even potential candidate Joe Biden waiting in the wings, is white.  While I believe that those democrats earnestly believe in diversity and the need to reduce racial discrimination, the picture up there on the podium is disturbingly less that the slate of candidates on the Republican side.

Missing Ted Cruz and Trump

Looking at the Republican candidates, one would think that they are the inclusive party: The Republican presidential candidates have Latinos Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio, African American Ben Carson, and Asian American candidate Bobby Jindal along with five other white candidates. Where are the democrats of other racial composition in this election cycle?  Have they all decided to cede their voices to Hillary and Bernie? Was the emergence of Obama 8 years ago just an anomaly and now we're back to the usual practice of letting well intentioned, white liberals speak for the minority races in America? Hmmmm.
